Arsene Wenger is expected to deploy a full-strength side for the Gunners Carabao Cup 1st leg clash with Chelsea on Wednesday.

Wenger has utilised his fringe players and more importantly given game time to stars of the future to develop in the competition. And it can be argued that players such as Reis Nelson, Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah deserve to have their crack at the Blues in the semi-final.

It’s a policy the boss has never shied away from over the years, but following Arsenal’s FA Cup shock exit the League Cup may be Arsenal’s best hope of adding another trophy to the cabinet this season.

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and co have all had a week to rest and prepare since the dramatic 2-2 draw with Chelsea last week. And with Antonio Conte likely to deploy his big guns, Arsenal simply must do the same.

It’s 25 years since the Gunners lifted the Carabao Cup, while the Blues won it in 2015.

Gooners, can Arsenal finally win this competition under Arsene Wenger? Drop us your thoughts in the comments…
