Aaron Ramsey is set to face a  longer spell on the sidelines, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The Gunners midfielder has been struggling with a groin injury and was unavailable for the defeat at Tottenham last week.

Ramsey has shown good form for Arsenal this term, that’s despite Arsenal’s troubles this term.

Wenger has confirmed that the Welshman will miss the Europa League tie with Ostersunds on Thursday night and the club will wait to see if he can return in time for the Carabao Cup final next weekend.

“Ramsey is a little bit of a sensitive case,” said Wenger (via Mirror).

“He doesn’t move forward as quickly as I expected.

“Today I would say certainly he will not be available for the second game against Ostersund.

“Maybe for the cup final.”

Meanwhile, the Gunners boss called on Uefa to abolish the rule that renders Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ineligible for Arsenal in the Europa League this season.

The Gabon international is unavailable for his new side having already appeared in the competition for Borussia Dortmund.
