Arsene Wenger says Danny Welbeck will not be leaving the club this month.

The England international has struggled to maintain a starting role in Wenger’s side this season and recent reports claim Besiktas are keen on signing him,

Welbeck has shaken off his injury woes this season and continues to be an option for the Gunners boss. Unfortunately however, the Englishman’s finishing and creativity often fails to match his work ethic and commitment to the cause

He’s scored five times in 21 games for the Gunners this term, but could see game time substantially cut if Arsenal sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Dortmund’s star’s expected arrival has led to suggestions Olivier Giroud will be involved in a swap deal. Wenger remains coy on the possibility of his compatriot leaving, but firmly ruled out a move for Welbeck.

When asked whether he would consider loaning Welbeck out, Wenger replied: “I want Danny to stay here.”
