Wenger reveals his side’s plan to nulify Harry Kane

Arsenal Wenger has revealed his ploy to stop Harry Kane in the North London Derby.

Tottenham host Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime with both clubs intent on keeping pace with their rivals.

Harry Kane has scored 35 goals in 36 games and recently cemented his name as part of the ‘Premier League 100 club’ by netting his 100th goal which salvaged a late draw at Liverpool.

The Englishman has scored six in his last six against Arsenal and is quickly becoming a curse to the Gunners backline.

Speaking ahead of Saturday clash, Wenger is in no doubt about the quality his team will be coming up against.

When asked whether Kane is the best striker in Europe, the Frenchman replied: “If you look at the numbers, no.”

Perhaps to maintain the confidence of his own frontmen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the boss then added: “Our strikers are top class as well and we want them to express their talent.”

Wenger also explained just how his side will cope with Harry Kane’s lethal presence – to defend in numbers.

“I can talk and talk and talk, but it’s the numbers (Kane’s goals) which will show that (he needs to be stopped).

“The best way to defend is to have the numbers and take the game to them.”
