Arsene Wenger is keeping his cards close to chest over a possible move for Thomas Lemar, but has refuted suggestions he is interested in Riyad Mahrez.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with both players in the past year, including Arsenal submitting three separate bids for Thomas Lemar.

The Monaco winger appeared to be on his way to the Emirates on deadline day, however, Lemar was suggested to have turned down the late move which saw the collapse of Alexis Sanchez’s switch to Manchester City.

As for Mahrez, the Leicester City forward has failed to reach the heights of his spectacular 2015/16 Player of the Year performances, and the Algerian is off Arsenal’s transfer wishlist.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League tie with Red Star Belgrade, Wenger failed to rule out the possibility of making a bid for either player.

On the Monaco winger, Wenger said: ‘No [there is no truth in the rumours]. At the moment, I told you I have a big squad, problem for me is to keep the squad together for the rest of the season. ‘Do we go in the January transfer market? I don’t know yet.’

When pushed on Mahrez, Wenger simply said: ‘No.’

Gooners, are you happy Arsenal are no longer intersted in Mahrez? Let us know in the comments…
