Arsène Wenger has come out and said that the state of the pitch at Old Trafford was a “disgrace”, and that it could cost Utd in the future.

“It was a disgrace and completely unbelievable,” said the Arsenal boss. “Players worth £25million cannot make a pass on that without the ball bouncing over the pitch.

“I believe the pitch is a handicap for them because their team plays at a good technical level. But the quality of the pitch negates that advantage over other sides.

“I just think I’ve been coming here for 10 or 11 years and I’ve not seen the pitch in that shape.”

Although it will probably hurt Manchester United, it was clear for everyone that the team that suffered the most on Saturday night due to the pitch was Arsenal, who, with inexperienced full backs and an emergency winger, could not play crosses into the box like the Manchester outfit did doing all game long.
