Wenger to battle Guardiola over Arsenal and Man City target

Arsene Wenger is set to lock horns with new Man City boss, Pep Guardiola, as the pair are both keeping tabs on Celtic left-back, Kieran Tierney, according to reports from The Sun.

The Sky Blues manager was reportedly impressed with the Scotland international’s showing for Celtic during their 3-3 draw with Guardiola’s side.

Wenger has, so far, preferred Spaniard Nacho Monreal to his English peer Kieran Gibbs in the left-back slot this season, and many fans feel it is a position that could do with an addition.

The 19-year-old has been on the radar of the powers that be at The Emirates for over a year now and has made 51 appearances for the Scottish champions, scoring just the one goal in the draw against the blue half of Manchester.

Whilst the Gunners are growing concerned about messrs Gibbs and Monreal, the Citizens are reportedly interested in recruiting in that position with both Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov nearing the end of their careers.
