Arsene Wenger hopes to wrap up a deal for Jack Wilshere in the coming weeks.

The Gunners midfielder has just four months to run on his current deal, but Wilshere is seemingly no closer to putting pen to paper.

Juventus are keeping tabs on his situation, while several Premier League clubs would be interested in taking him on a free transfer at the end of season.

But Wenger remains hopeful of persuading Wilshere to stay and admits he wants a swift conclusion to the ongoing talks.

“That decision doesn’t depend only on me,” said the Arsenal boss, when asked if he was any closer to striking a deal with Wilshere. “But I want him to sign very quickly.

“He is still to make a decision and to find a pen somewhere, I am happy to give him one.”

Wilshere has shaken off his injury woes this season and encouragingly he’s missed just three games since the turn of the year.

The midfielder will be expecting to take part in Arsenal’s League Cup final clash with Man City on Sunday.
