SA Gunner: Yeah tonight we saw the importance of clinical finishing and the ability to hold and progress the ball through tight, physical spaces.
A ball-carrying midfielder, a TP5 replacement, a potent striker and Timber’s return to full fitness will take the team up another level for sure”
What you saw tonight is exactly what teams will be looking to do against us. Compress the spaces and if done successfully, press aggressively and look to counter-attack.
It’s simple, effective but one of the last tactics that has a level of success against us.
As hydro says, get in players who can play through those situations and convert in the box and we’ll kill this tactic and leave the opposition with next to nothing left.”
lomekian: “At least we aren’t Utd. Utter rubbish from them again.
Have to be philosophical about tonight. We were a bit crap, but West Ham scored 3 goals of less than 0.5xG, and we got the classic deep block after a goal that shouldn’t have stood treatment, so it was a bit like post-2008 Wenger years…”
