The doom and gloom is still hanging low over the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal continue to come to grips with their title challenge collapse. For so long it looked like Mikel Arteta’s men would put a stop to Man City’s Premier League dominance, but the inexperienced Gunners squad ultimately fell short after a late collapse.

Now the work begins for Arteta for the 2023/24 season, with the Spaniard having to pick his players up and attempt to find the right signings that can make them title challengers once again. Currently, Arsenal are priced at 9/1 in the football odds to clinch the title ahead of favourites and current holders, Manchester City. Newcastle United are also ahead of the Gunners for the title next season, with the Magpies expected to spend big once again. Below are the latest players to be linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer.

Latest Transfer Rumours

Declan Rice

It now looks inevitable that West Ham captain, Declan Rice, will be making a move elsewhere this summer. The England international has been linked with the Gunners for quite some time now, and if rumours are to be believed, he could finally be about to make the move across London to join up with Arteta’s team.

There is talk that there will be a raft of players moving away from the Emirates to fund the big-money move for Rice, with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey among those expected to leave. That would free up space in the midfield for Rice to slot into, but with Chelsea and Man Utd also circling around the West Ham captain, there is no guarantee that Arsenal will finally get their man.

Alexis MacAllister

If a move for Rice fails to materialise, a cheaper option may come in the form of Brighton’s World Cup winner, Alexis MacAllister. A player that would suit Arsenal’s style of play, he would provide the option of a deep laying playmaker or playing further up the pitch.

He is another who has been attracting the attention of a host of Europe’s elite, and if rumours are to be believed, he is close to an agreement to join Liverpool in the summer.

Ilkay Gundogan

Perhaps the most surprising transfer rumour involving The Gunners is that of a potential move for Man City captain, Ilkay Gundogan. It is hard to see Pep Guardiola letting a player that has been so instrumental in the team’s success leave the club, particularly to a title rival.

Mikel Arteta has, of course, worked with the German international in the past, and although you can never say never when it comes to Premier League transfers, this would be one of the most surprising in recent years.

Sacha Boey

At the other end of the scale when it comes to possible incomings at the Emirates, is the supposed move for exciting Galatasaray right back, Sacha Boey. A bid of €17 million has reportedly already been made by The Gunners, but the Turkish giants are holding firm at €25 million for one of their top assets.

The Frenchman has been a revelation since moving to Turkey from Rennes in 2021 and is very much in the mould of what a current full-back needs to be. He is solid defensively, reads the game well, and is a very creative player when getting forward.

Ben White has done an excellent job for Arsenal since being moved to a right-back role, but signing Boey would allow White to move back to centre-back, a position that The Gunners are also looking to strengthen.
