Where Arsenal must improve next season

In football there will always be room for improvement. In Arsenal’s case, having fallen short of the top prizes this season, the room for improvement is even higher than is the case with some other clubs, and looking ahead to next season, Wenger will have some tough decisions to make this summer.

The shout from just about every pundit in the country at this point is regarding the proverbial spine of the side, and I would tend to agree with that. A top class centre forward, defensive midfielder, and goalkeeper would push Arsenal over the top easily and help the side fight on all fronts.

Starting up front, Giroud has shown what he is capable of, but has also shown some inconsistency. He has looked jaded lately having failed to score in his last eight matches, and Arsenal need a consistent proven goal scorer. Only someone in the ilk of Cavani, Benzema, of Jackson Martinez will do, and with a world beater up front Arsenal will have strengthened significantly.

In midfield, Francis Coquelin has shown what a difference a ball winner makes in the centre of the park. Another top quality ball winner to play alongside him will push Arsenal over the hump I reckon, and would also improve the options in that position with Arteta and Flamini aging.

Lastly, between the sticks should be upgraded as Ospina has shown some lapses in concentration despite a fairly impressive run of form this season. A world class goalkeeper would sure up what is already a vastly improved back line.

I reckon with those three improvements, Arsenal will return to the summit of world football. What do you think gooners? Where does Arsenal need to improve?
