Arsenal are still in the process of finding a replacement for Unai Emery.
A number of candidates have been linked with filling the managerial void, including Leicester’s Brendan Rodger’s and Wolves boss Nuno Santo.
Unfortunately, there are concerns their search is hindered with the Gunners working to a limited budget, which in turn is off-putting to many candidates.
According to the Daily Mail, Unai Emery was paid £4million-a-year and that the board would be willing to improve on this contract but not to an amount that would put the club’s new manager in line with the top paid bosses across Europe.
In contrast, former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was raking in £7million and his replacement Jose Mourinho is now on £15m-a-year.
Meanwhile, The Athletic’s David Ornstein says he has heard that Sanllehi would go for Enrique ahead of anyone else.
But the former Barcelona star has only just recently retaken the Spain international role.
