Jack Wilshere has cast doubt on his Arsenal future after admitting he sometimes wonders where he will be playing next season.

The Gunners midfielder has just six months to run until the end of his current contract with the club and talks are yet to take place over a new deal.

Wilshere broke his leg in April, but made his comeback to the Arsenal side this term after a season’s long-loan at Bournemouth.

The 25 year-old is yet to start in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger’s side, though he is being used as a starter in the Europa League set-up.

He has expressed he can’t help but think about what will happen over the next few months.

Arsenal left it late to earn a 1-1 draw against So’ton on Sunday

‘Nothing goes through your head when you’re playing except who you are playing against and what you can do to affect the game,’ said Wilshere (via the Metro).

‘If I’m on the bench in a Premier League game, I’m thinking: “What can I do coming off the bench?” Once I’m at the training ground, I’m focused, preparing for the next game. ‘Sometimes when I’m at home maybe you think: “What’s going to happen? I’ve only got six months left.”

Wilshere stepped off the bench to help Arsenal secure a point away to Southampton on Sunday.

He could finally be in line for a start in the Premier League when Arsenal travel to West Ham on Wednesday night.
