For the third successive season it looks like Premier League glory will elude Arsenal.

Set to be runners-up yet again, Arsenal’s frustrating draw with Brentford, coupled with Liverpool’s last-gasp victory against West Ham, has left the Reds just two wins away from clinching a second Premier League title.

With just two wins in their last seven Premier League matches, the injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have finally caught up with Arsenal and there are several areas the teams need to address if Arsenal are to challenge on all fronts next year.

Having kept their powder dry in the January window, the pressure is on the Arsenal hierarchy to deliver, and a big summer of transfer activity will be required – particularly upfront.

With the rumour mill already in overdrive, let’s look at some of the attackers who could be on Arsenal’s radar this summer.

Alexander Isak

For those that like betting on soccer, one man who has often been at the top of the betting markets for Premier League goalscoring is Alexander Isak.

The Swede has established himself as one of the best centre forwards in the league and has once again surpassed the twenty-goal barrier with only Mohammed Salah and Erling Haaland ahead of him in the goalscoring charts.

In an era where there are very few pure centre forwards left in the game, Isak has established himself as the best number nine in the league and is on the radar of several of Europe’s biggest clubs.

With a silky touch and the ability to score big goals as well as play others in, Isak is a striker that can do it all.

With Newcastle already having won the Carabao Cup this season, the Magpies are also firmly in the race for a Champions League finish. If Newcastle were to return to Europe’s premier competition, prizing him away from the Toon Army could be tough. Even if Newcastle do miss out on Europe’s premier competition, it’s still going to take an offer of potentially £100 million for them to land their man.

Isak is the striker that many believe could help fire Arsenal to Premier League glory.

Viktor Gyokeres

If Isak is too much of an expensive deal to pull off, then it could be that Arsenal turn towards another Swedish striker in the form of Viktor Gyokeres.

Ever since making his move from Championship side Coventry, Gyokeres has found life at Sporting Lisbon exactly to his liking. With 87 goals in 95 appearances for Sporting, Gyokeres has also scored big goals in the Champions League and for the Swedish National Team.

At just 26, Gyokeres should be entering the peak of his career and with Lisbon’s asking price set to be much lower than what Newcastle will demand for Isak, Gyokeres could be one of Arsenal’s more realistic transfer targets this summer.

Liam Delap

A product of Manchester City’s famed youth academy, Liam Delap has made waves in his first full season of topflight football and despite Ipswich looking destined for a swift return to the Championship, the undoubted bright spot for the Tractor Boys this season has been Delap.

At just 22, Delap has found the back of the net twelve times in the Premier League this season but has raised eyebrows with his finishing abilities and ability to bully defenders.

With reports emerging that Delap could be purchased for as little as £30 million, the race for Delap’s signature is set to be intense and it could be a race that Arsenal will be desperate to win.

Benjamin Sesko

One man that has been on Arsenal’s hitlist for several years is Benjamin Sesko.

At just 21, Sesko has long been touted as one of Europe’s brightest talents, and it looks like Leipzig will have a real battle on their hands to keep the Slovenian hitman on their books this summer.

Tall and rangy, Sesko can score every type of goal, and many believe that he should have both the technical and physical attributes to succeed in the Premier League.

With eleven goals in the Bundesliga this season, Leipzig will be hoping that Sesko can produce the goals to fire them into the Champions League.

Although not as prolific as some of the other strikers on this list, Sesko would arrive at the Emirates as a raw talent. Still, with a price tag of around £60 million, it could be a gamble the Arsenal board may be willing to take.
