The boy’s a bit special

The wonderfully named Ainsley Maitland-Niles is a winger and has been at the club since he was six. When asked who he plays football like, Ainsley, clearly not short on confidence said that he play football like himself, he’s a unique player with his own style.

Career highlights so far

At just 16, Maitland-Niles hasn’t had the chance at too many ‘career highlights’, however, the winger enjoyed his winning goal on the opening day of the season.

Future Emirates regular?

Competition for Arsenal regarding wingers/wide players is very high, however, he’s probably three/four years away from being ready for first-team football.

Maybe we will have Ainsley on one wing and Serge Gnabry on another wing come 2018/19 Premier League season.

His most interesting tweet

“Great win today over Dortmund today, back to London”

Ainsley was clearly keen to reiterate that the match happened “today”, however, it was great to the Arsenal youngsters fail to do what the first-team did and overcome Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in their UEFA Youth League group match.
