One of the surprise packages of Arsenal’s 2015/16 season was undoubtedly Alex Iwobi who succeeded where most other young Gunners have failed in making an impression when getting his big first team chance.
Winning senior international honours with Nigeria hot on the heels of bursting into Arsene Wenger’s plans, it’s been quite a year for Iwobi who is still only 20-years-old of course.
A sign of how far Iwobi has come lay in the fact that he actually started the Premier League opener against Liverpool after a positive pre-season.
Unfortunately injured alongside Aaron Ramsey in that game, Iwobi will have to earn his way back into the starting eleven and that could prove tough with the likes of Mesut Ozil returning in the coming weeks.
Nevertheless, Iwobi’s rise into Arsenal’s first team has been impressive and after a particularly outstanding game away at Everton last season, you can see why Arsene Wenger loves his talent.
