Arsenal suffered a huge Champions League defeat last night in the hands of Bayern Munich, whom many consider the favourites for the competition outright.

An attacking master-class from the German hosts left Arsenal pretty helpless, as they fell to a 5-1 defeat that leaves them on the brink of early elimination. The Gunners must now win their final two matches and must beat Olympiakos by two-goals in the final group game.

On top of this, Arsenal will be eliminated if Olympiakos get anything from their next group-game against Bayern Munich. Given the Greek side’s recent form, this is a pretty big possibility.

Whilst an early-exit would be disappointing, Arsenal supporters learnt some valuable lessons from the defeat to Bayern Munich which @DanGaleaStJohn has identified here.

These lessons could be valuable heading into a crucial North London derby at the weekend, where Arsenal can make it six Premier League victories in a row!
