Arsenal playmaker, Santi Cazorla, has been trying to emulate club legend Thierry Henry in training recently as part of BT Sport’s #GoalsRecreated campaign.
The Spain international has been attempting the Frenchman’s iconic goal against Man United at Highbury in 2000, where he spun on the edge of the area to fire a spectacular volley past Fabien Barthez in the Red Devils’ goal.
With Granit Xhaka taking the place of Gilles Grimandi, who is now a scout at the club, Cazorla only needed two chances to flick the ball and show the same level of brilliance as the No.14 did, 16 years ago.
The 31-year-old has scored 29 goals in 175 appearances for the Gunners and, whilst there is no question he cannot emulate the legend, however he may have proved that he is capable of similar brilliance.
The former France international’s goal turned out to be the winner in a 1-0 win, which ended Sir Alex Ferguson’s side’s undefeated record in the league that season and a goal drought for the striker.
