Thomas Lemar

I suspect we'll be dragged into a bidding war for Lemar. Monaco look like they're in no hurry to sell and tbh, rightly so if they want to make the most out of their players. Unless we yolo it with a big deal, we probably won't see him come here. Hope I'm wrong though.

We're the only ones bidding so who we bidding against to create this war?

It'll drag on but I think we'll get him for just under the overall fee for Lacazette (52m)

Probably doesn't mean anything but if falcao, Mbappe and Lemar are your main players you'd want them in both launches would you not?

I've got a feeling this will be wengers cm and lw signing rolled into one, the other option being the Russian kid and mahrez. He's played santi beside xhaka and we looked good so I do think he would use lemar there at times

I think Lemar is already having serious thoughts about moving. And seeing Lacazette make the switch will add to that. I don't expect him to put in a transfer request or anything but there's a chance of him coming clear to Monaco about his desire to play for us.

Yeah let's hope he force the move because if things still the same Monaco will not forced to sell

seems to me that French players are aware if they want to work under Wenger they haven't got long to do it, so it's now or never

there are faint suggestions that this is a factor with Mbappe's family too

Thought he went under the radar a bit last season due to the likes of Bernardo Silva and Mbappe but he would be a snip at 40m in today's market. 21 years of age who is already an established star and he can only improve. He is a very clever and tidy player who also has a few assists and goals in his locker.

Arsenal are being insistent over Thomas Lemar. Not overly insistent, not obsessive with their efforts, but they’re hanging around the AS Monaco player and not going away.

Friday’s edition of L’Equipe covers Arsenal’s latest offer. It’s €45m, a rise from €40m so not so dramatic, and Arsène Wenger must have known it was likely to be knocked back.

Perhaps this is a longer game for Wenger, transfer by a thousand cuts, and rather than go in all guns blazing to Casino Square, he’s playing a softer approach.

Wenger is said to be convinced that Lemar could combine well with Lacazette, and

L’Equipe say the two men get on very well. At the last gathering of the France squad the pair looked to have a ‘real bond’ and be building a lasting friendship.

As the French newspaper point out, ‘The transfer window has only just begun’ and there’s still plenty of time left for Arsenal to do a deal for the wide player.

The 21 year old is said to also be interesting Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Atletico Madrid.

Emery Gone, Telly Back On
Totally disagree. He is not "very basic" and not just "very clever". He is a super talented footballer, great technique and vision and at 21 has a pretty high ceiling. He is much more laid back and low key than Mbappe but still an amazing player in his own rights. 45 M offer is a joke and will not lead anywhere.

Very basic as in simplicity, he does most things right, and what the game wants of him, kind of like Mesut. Not a negative trait. The technique and talent goes without saying. Not just "very clever"? Super duper clever if that helps then.

45M isn't a joke offer by any means. We just bought a guy who has scored 37 goals for slighty more ffs. Silva also went for a bit more.

Yeah, don't think you can say £40m is a joke offer. I understand people thinking that now though, when I saw that Lukaku was going for £75m I weren't bothered.

£75m! That's nearly what Ronaldo went for.

40M is seriously very good bid the market go crazy these days specially if english club is interested the french clubs know Arsenal can pay more then 40M so they will keep asking for more money.

Yeah people are going overboard. £40m will still be probably in top 25 transfers ever.

Calling it a joke is silly
