Arsenal are tracking Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The Gunners are still open to buying another centre-back and Mirror Sport understands they could beat West Brom to the Northern Irishman’s signature.

Evans has been frozen out by United boss Louis Van Gaal, but knows he risks swapping one bench for another if he moves to North London, with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker cemented in position.

However, Evans is an option on the flanks and could fight Gabriel Paulista or Calum Chambers for a place.

The Baggies are also stalling over the £10million price tag, even though Tony Pulis would love Evans to join fellow countrymen Gareth McAuley and Chris Brunt.
