I think he leaves simply as he is too good to be sitting on our bench when he could be starting for any club in Italy. Could probably play another 2-3 seasons at a high level in Italy, whereas his minutes here will likely dwindle.

Playing time is certainly one factor. I would expect we are paying higher wages, so I'm sure maximizing income in his last few years is a consideration as well.
