They've used their weakest players for those games. The likes of Cole, Poulsen, N'Gog and Insua have been a heavily involved in their pre-season thus far.

of course...and while Henderson, Downing and Carrol will be an improvement...but not any great improvement to be fair...they have just two friendly games left, so I wonder how will those players and other main players look at the start of the season...

also imagine uproar there would be if we let 3 goals in against Hull and they had farely strong side out there for Hull...comparable to what we are fielding in pre season games...

Nasty broken leg for Chung Yong Lee of Bolton.

Shame, like him as a player and thought he'd be having quite the season.

Bloody ridiculous tackle on Lee, it's a pre-season friendly FFS.

Silva is class, great pass and I can only imagine he'll drop plenty more of those dimes this coming season.

on a side note Pool drawed 3-3 with struggling midtable Norwegian side which have half of a reserve team out there apparently...and Pool was in pretty much full strenght apart from injured players and Suarez...you can expect such a line up in some Premiership games no problem...they wen't down 2-0 then came back to lead 2-3 after two corners around 85th minute and then conceeded 90+ equaliser...

Well liverpool having really bad pre-season, they also need defenders and kenny just pay millions for overrated players, and he forget the buy defenders.

Newcastle selling their best players from last season for tuppence and replacing them with PL-inexperienced foreign imports and managed by a manager who was probably largely responsible for West Ham and Charlton's relegation. They're my bet for relegation candidates next term.

What are the odds?

Newcastle relegation odds 11/2 at Paddy Power.

I watched the Vålerenga(VIF) - Liverpool match yesterday. VIF had a team that were mostly reserves and 2. division players that they wanted to take a look at. Liverpool looked very unfit and had a hard time pressing and their defensive line was a mess. The number of times VIF players managed to drop into the room behind the Liverpool defence was laughable.

Their side is too lightweight, even Barcelona have a few players who'll add a bit of height and strength in Pique and Busquets. Valencia's team is tiny. Don't think they've got a player over 6ft in the midfield or attack.

was a funny goal..Carrol found himself one on one with keeper after horrible Albelda **** up...Carrol hit the keeper, ball bounced to the post back to Carrol who scored with easy tap in...

not much happening other than that...Valencia enjoying all the possesion but not very dangerous...Mata with couple nice skills but also quiet
