Re: Ricky Alvarez

This is a strange turn of events , firstly Alvarez would not fit into Inter , than they have sneijder and Wenger reportedly would rather sell Nasri to Inter . Don't think it is over yet.

Re: Ricky Alvarez

According to Gazzetta a meeting with Inter is scheduled this afternoon in Argentina. It's only 5.5m euros upfront with the rest in add on's.

He will get less game time at Inter especially if they get Banega. Anyways, am not really bothered about missing out on Alvarez. He is a good all-rounder but nothing in his game is exceptional.

Re: Ricky Alvarez

I'm quite sure he will choose Inter since they always have attracted Argie/S.American players. With Zanetti , Cambiasso,Samuel and Milito already there he will fit right in.

We could have completed this deal long before Inter decided to get involved. This is what happens when you wait around, instead of promptly concluding the transaction.

no offence but we have absolutely no notion how the this thing was handled and what really happened, for all we know he could still end up with us or someone completely different...

I think we agreed personal terms with Ricky a while ago, but since there were a lot of clubs interested Velez were in no hurry to agree a transfer fee with us or anyone else.

Re: Ricky Alvarez

Well then, that's another signing falling through. Probably in part because we wanted to offload players first

This could go any way still. He himself indicated via his twitter that he wants to play for us.

We're not signing anyone this window. The backup players, the top of the line signings, NONE. We will sell sell sell and replace internally that's how we've been run since 2004

Well, we don't, but it's very likely that the transfer could have been completed at an earlier date. Afterall, it's not like the Velez chairman is attempting to initiate an auction, what with his comments about the club not standing in Alvarez's way. Besides, Wenger himself has mentioned some codswallop about this waiting game that we are currently partaking in.

A certain English-Finn would beg to differ...
