Arsenal are set to recieve a boost just in time for the Christmas period with the return of several first team stars. None perhaps more important than Theo Walcott, who together with Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud will once again give Arsenal their full compliments of forwards.

In the hopes that he stays fit, I have set a goals and assists targets for them each to hit. I have conjured up these targets based on the goals and assist they already have as well as the general amount of chances that fall to them (if that makes sense). My hope is that the likes of Ozil, Ramsey, and Wilshere return soon as well which will undoubtedly aid them in their targets but I think the marks I’ve set for them are reasonable either way. The totals are geared more toward the League in truth, but seeing as how Arsenal are still alive in the Champions League and FA Cup, they should have plenty of platforms and matches to reach these targets. No excuses!

Danny Welbeck-12 goals, 7 assists

Extremely lenient for Welbeck I feel, because he should have much more goals than he does already. He is currently at 3 goals and 2 assists and really should be closer to 10 in the goals department. He always turns up in goal scoring positions though so I expect to see him start hitting the net more regularly. I originally had a target of 15 and 10 for him when he first arrived, but I have amended it based on his wastefulness so far.

Alexis Sanchez-20 goals, 10 assists

Alexis is absolutely flying with 9 goals and 5 assists. He leads the team in both categories and I don’t expect him to slow down any time soon. He will probably exceed these targets at the rate he is going especially with the returns of Wilshere and Ramsey and Ozil to create chances behind him.

Olivier Giroud-15 goals, 5 assists

Having missed a decent chunk of the season through injury, he has done remarkably well to score 5 goals. One was against Everton before the injury so he has scored 4 since his return, more than Welbeck has scored the entire season. He has yet to register an assist though, so 5 is a fair target for the season. Giroud is staking his claim for first choice cenre forward with his finishing at the moment and really looks up for it. I am confident Arsenal will score when he is leading the line and that is not something I would have said a few seasons ago.

Theo Walcott-10 goals, 10 assists

I feel for Theo, he has been out an incredibly long time and has only managed two appearances in the last year or so. He is back now though (fingers crosses) and could be just the boost Arsenal needed. With his pace and finishing ability, he will get back on the score sheet soon enough I am sure of that. Assists are his specialty though, hence the high tally I have set for him. His crossing is excellent, and his direct running and dynamism stretches backlines which lends itself to cut backs and low crosses for easy tap ins. Theo should have no problem reaching these targets despite him only just returning.
