Napoli unrest has already seen Arsenal linked with Jose Callejon in recent months, but recent reports are linking the club with his teammate and former Madrid colleague Gonzalo Higuain. This rumour probably makes more sense to Arsenal supporters as Arsenal were previously linked with the player for months before his move to Naples. It is still a painful mystery as to what happened to the deal originally, but it seems the player is now unsettled at Napoli and would favour a move away. Napoli sit seventh in Serie A and have been relegated to the Europa League in European play. Higuain is said to be concerned about his chances at silverware in the near future and is considering a move away.

Who are ya?

The 26 year old Argentina international cemented his place as one of Europe’s elite during his time at Madrid. He struck 107 goals in 190 appearances for the club, an astonishing amount and already has 17 in 36 for Napoli.

Arsene, spend some money!

According to reports, the player would be worth around €40m which is the price Napoli paid Madrid. A bit steep considering the club have recently signed Welbeck.

Believability factor – 4/10

Don’t see this transfer happening now that Welbeck has joined. Danny is coming into his own and with Giroud ahead of schedule, I don’t think Wenger has any real intention of bringing in another striker any time soon. As much as I would love this to happen and still think there is a place for him at Arsenal, I don’t think Wenger sees eye to eye with me on this.

Game changer?

Absolutely. The man can smell the goal and possessing a finishing sense matched by nobody in our squad (Podolski aside maybe). As far as strikers go, there aren’t many better suited to Arsenal’s style of play. A clinical finisher is the only thing Arsenal is crying out for and with Higuain we would have it.
