The Gunners have been shredding the Premier League for the last couple weeks, and their biggest test of the year will come on Sunday as they host projected-champions Chelsea. Since the last league match against Chelsea, we have come to see a completely new Arsenal squad – a defensively disciplined machine. Le Professeur is going to most likely resort back to the formula of success – mainly playing through Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. The duo’s ability to connect with each other and create chances out of nothing, absolutely brilliant. The German/Chilean tandem leave the opposition in shambles in a blink of an eye, hence the first goal against Reading.

Firstly, the key to winning this match against Chelsea will be discipline, starting with Francis “Columbo” Coquelin – a nickname deemed upon Coquelin (“The Detective”) by Thierry Henry during a little banter between the French Gunners. Francis needs to be on his A-Game, much like the performance he put in against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Secondly, we must focus our play through Ozil and Sanchez – scary to think these players are only getting better as time goes on. Also, Bellerin needs to put in the performance of a lifetime as he will most likely be paired up against Eden Hazard, the leading man in the PFA Player of the Year award.

Finally, Boss-cielny will need to wear the armband and captain his troops in order for the Gunners to dig in and grind out three points. A bit obvious, but David Ospina will need a clean sheet to beat Chelsea, because we all know if Chelsea score first – their bus is parked. The Gunners are well capable of taking the three points from Mourinho’s men, and this could be a massive six-point swing to keep Arsenal’s miracle alive.

Arsenal’s projected Starting XI:

GK – David Ospina

Defenders – Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, and Monreal

Holding Midfield – Coquelin and Cazorla

Attacking Midfield – Ramsey, Ozil, and Sanchez

Striker – Olivier Giroud

yeah, Arsenal looks to be better compared to chelsea at this time and if they can work as a team they can easily beat chelsea.

  5. Goonereris says:

I just feel we need to get Welbeck in there, somewhere and somehow, eve at the risk of not having the much touted “balance” in the side. Ramsey to the bench and Welbz on the right to help the full back keep Hazard quiet. Ramsey’s energy will be missed but you just miss proper cover and attack from the right side when he plays there.

You really right with your suggestion Goonereris, i will also love Welbeck to replace Ramsey. To reduce the pressure on Bellerin.

  6. said says:

i think we need to play two strikers that is welback and walcott at the center, just to keep the center of Chelsea under preusure

  7. exscaey says:

I think welbeck should replace ramsey on the right to put more pressure on chelsea defence.

  8. Gaz says:

No pace with Ramsey on the right and Giroud up front. Chelsea can hold a high line with no fear and compress the game into the middle. Welbeck has to play right (but won’t because Wenger will refuse to drop Ramsey) so that it pushes the defence back and leaves spaces for the midfield to work.

  9. remmy soj says:

i think we need Ramsey more than Welbeck. Ramsey is a box to box player and a defined finisher than Welbeck. Carzola can be sacrifice in first half for Ramsey to function well with Coquelin. Welbeck can be on sub bench

  10. bmak says:

Ramsey must be benched and throw Welbeck on the right for sure. we need transport on the wings to put pressure on chelz

  11. wisewwang says:

i think wenger should start bellerlin and gibbs in other to strengthen the defend because Chelsea are good in attack. for midfield he should pair coquelin with cazorla ozil and welbeck so welbeck can use his energy to track back hazard.
