Arsenal have one of the best and most revered youth academies in all of the land. Gooners are extremely proud of the talent produced at Arsenal with the likes of Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs strutting their stuff on the biggest stages. Before them was Fabregas and Song most notably and Arsenal looks a real breeding ground for young talent.

It has been a few years since the academy produced such talent however, but looks to have done it again with Hector Bellerin. Bellerin excites Arsenal fans with his pace and attacking talent and Arsenal look to have a proper wing back in their ranks. Arsenal arguably haven’t had that since Clichy (aside from Gibbs of course) and Bellerin looks a real star in the future.

There are rumours going around that Bellerin has broken the sprint record at Arsenal, much to the chagrin of Theo Walcott, and he uses that blistering pace to tear down the right and overlap in attack.

He is certain to take the reigns from Debuchy in the long run as Arsenal’s first choice right back. He can defend as well, and should he continue to grow and develop in this manner and we could be looking at Spain’s future long term right back (take that Azpilicueta).

Funny expression that is, “he can defend as well.” As if it’s a secondary role although he is a defender by trade. We are undoubtedly more impressed and excited by his attacking ability and the options in attack he provides us when he’s on the pitch, but make no mistake about it the lad is a proper defender as well.

His pace makes him a nightmare for wingers who think they are in the clear but quickly feel Bellerin breathing down their neck. Many times we have seen him make up quite some distance to recover and win the ball from an attacker with a sliding tackle or win a foot race in which he wasn’t fancied.

He has good strength and intelligence as well and I think Hector will have a fabulous career. He will get more chances this season and in the coming seasons I’m sure of it.
