Many players experience difficulty reproducing their phenomenal form for country for domestic affairs with their clubs, or vice versa. For whatever reason, some players favour different styles of football and relish one level of competition over another.

It is quite remarkable to see it unfold, as some players look completely rejuvenated in one shirt as opposed to the other. Our very own Danny Welbeck seems to be the latest Arsenal player (after the likes of Bendtner, Arshavin, and Vela) to suffer from this international curse while playing.

He is in fine form for the Three Lions, leading the qualifying charts with 6 goals. He added another against Lithuania last week and always seem to relish playing for his country. It is a bit of a different story for Arsenal though, as he has managed just 4 Premier League goals in 24 appearances this season.

There really is no definite solution to this occurrence, and Welbeck simply has to improve his league form. He needs to bring his international form to Arsenal. It is not as if he is playing a particularly different role for England, as he usually starts on the wing in a front three. He has shown he can stick the ball away at will, so why isn’t he doing the same at Arsenal?

To be fair to Danny, his contribution to Arsenal outside of scoring goals has been impressive, and he is very dangerous when charging down the flank. Such pace and power make him a real handful for defenders, we just need him to improve his end product.

He has the ability, he has proven it on several occasions. He just has to produce more consistently for Arsenal if he is to make that step into elite.I have called Danny to action before, and I will continue to do so because he is a capable footballer. Soon enough he will be on the charts all over the world.

Welbeck is a great player despite he don’t have gaol at emirate this season by scoring 4 goals in 24 appearances, there more to come at from him next season.
