Marco Verratti is a world class player and is at the ripe age of 22. He currently plays central midfield for PSG was up for the Ligue 1 player of the year.

Verratti is the epitome of all-around midfielder, he is a physical player even though he only stands at 5’5”. He is fantastic on the ball, constantly dribbling out of two or three defenders and always delivering on his passes. While not a great scorer, he is still very young and hopefully will improve on that with time.

The most astonishing stat to come from Verratti is his 92% pass completion percentage. Those aren’t all safe passes either 72% of his completed passes are going forward. While he does not have a ton of assists (7), he has created 34 chances in league play.

He is a very tenacious defender, which is evidenced by the fact that he has 12 yellow cards in 30 league games this year. While that may not be the best stat it does show that he is not afraid to fight for the ball.

If I were to compare Verratti to any player in the Arsenal squad I would say he is most like Santi Cazorla. They are both magicians on the ball and have very good vision. But Verratti is the better defender. If Verratti were to join Arsenal he would most likely compete with Cazorla for the other CM spot, while Coquelin has the other spot well wrapped up.

Verratti is already a world class player and will surely turn into a worldwide star. He would also fit perfectly into Arsenal’s system with his great passing skills. I also believe tactically that Verratti and Coquelin could develop into a formidable central midfield pairing, considering how tenacious they are trying to get the ball back.

Verratti is estimated to cost around 30 million pounds. PSG are very deep in the midfield department and also one of the frontrunners to land Paul Pogba. I do believe that Verratti will be sold this summer, and normally he would be considered a top, top target at CM.

But with the likes of Pogba, Gundogan, Isco, Khedira and Schneiderlin said to be on the market he is not considered as valuable. But if he is bought for anything near 30 million than it would be a tremendous steal for any club.
