Shock reports say have tipped Arsenal with a move for Juventus striker Fernando Llorente, with the player’s agent reportedly flying into London to discuss the move. Reports in the Metro claim the player’s agent was in London on Tuesday night to discuss a potential deal, with the 30 year old now surplus to requirements in Turin.

Llorente has shown he can bang in the goals on his day, especially during his stint with Bilbao, but at this point in time he would be considered a step down for Arsenal. He is no better than Giroud, and suffers the same lack of pace that the Frenchman is often criticized for, perhaps even more so.

Llorente however tends to drift in and out of games because of it, while Giroud’s hold up and combination play means he is always heavily involved in the attack.

Llorente found himself frozen out of the first team picture behind the likes of Tevez and Morata, and will most likely suffer the same fate behind new boy Dybala.

He would arguably be in for a similar predicament behind Giroud and Walcott and Welbeck at Arsenal, and in truth offers little to no improvement on the attacking corps at Arsenal. Arsenal should be focusing on bringing in top class strikers in the ilk of Benzema and Cavani if we are to challenge for the title.

What do you think gooners? Is Llorente good enough to fire Arsenal to the title?

That is suicidal if we get him, if Arsenal can’t get Benzema then we should go for lewandowski if we can’t get him as well, then we should stick with the attackers we have and hope one of them will step up to the plate and prove all critics wrong.

    Come on Gooners
