5 most improved Arsenal players this season

Hector Bellerin

Bellerin (2)

Hector was thrown in at the deep end at just 19 last season after a long term injury to Mathieu Debuchy and after a breakthrough where he helped us win the FA Cup and secure Champions League football , the Spaniard has never looked back.

He cemented his place as the first choice right-back some time ago with his blistering pace and defensive maturity, but it’s his world class performances against Bayern and United in particular this season that put him on the map as one of the best young right-backs in the world.

He is now a guaranteed starter and has gone from a talented wonder kid, to a solid first team regular this season. It’s easy to take his improvement for granted, but all credit should go to him for his attitude in making the step up and Arsene Wenger for giving him the opportunity.

I agree with everything you say about the 5 most improved players this season
Sadly this can also be matched by 5 who have gone backwards
Walcott – a passenger just not developing the potential that should now be the finished article
Oxlade-Chamberlain Same could be said for him though being that much younger than Walcott he still is a possibility
Mertesacker – well the Chelsea fiasco was an accident just waiting to happen. Sadly it may have blown our chances of winning the PL. Surely time for Gabriel to take over permanently
Flamini & Arteta – just past their sell-by date and hopefully leaving at the end of the season

These are all issues that should be addressed, but Wenger staggers on seemingly blind to the problems. Such a shame as we are so nearly there. We just needed 2 or 3 quality signings to be Champions this season.
