5 most improved Arsenal players this season

Mesut Ozil

The German maestro has always been a superstar in name and prestige since his £42m move from Madrid in 2013, but to the football world, there was a sense that he hadn’t quite lived up to his status as a world beater at the Emirates.

This season though, with a full pre-season and not suffering a fitness drain from a summer tournament, he has made critics and doubters eat their words with consistently superb performances and playing the best football of his career.

He is blessed with pure class and talent, but he has improved this season so much that sublime quality and a top class performance is expected of him in every game. With a record breaking 16 assists and 3 goals in 21 Premier League games, it’s Mesut Ozil who is undoubtedly the most improved Gunner this season.

I agree with everything you say about the 5 most improved players this season
Sadly this can also be matched by 5 who have gone backwards
Walcott – a passenger just not developing the potential that should now be the finished article
Oxlade-Chamberlain Same could be said for him though being that much younger than Walcott he still is a possibility
Mertesacker – well the Chelsea fiasco was an accident just waiting to happen. Sadly it may have blown our chances of winning the PL. Surely time for Gabriel to take over permanently
Flamini & Arteta – just past their sell-by date and hopefully leaving at the end of the season

These are all issues that should be addressed, but Wenger staggers on seemingly blind to the problems. Such a shame as we are so nearly there. We just needed 2 or 3 quality signings to be Champions this season.
