Transfer insider Dean Jones has issued an update on Marquinhos after the youngster has recently impressed in Arsenal colours.
THE LOWDOWN: BIG IMPRESSION
His performance, according to the report, and a couple of his actions in training have surprised a lot of people at the Emirates since his arrival. And given the problems the Gunners have on the wings, he has been labelled a possible solution.
However, it was reported just some days ago that the Gunners will send out the winger out on loan in January and it appears that decision is gaining traction every passing day.
THE LATEST: LOAN MOVE
According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Arsenal have no plans to sell Marquinhos but they are considering sending him out on loan.
Jones informed GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal’s plan is to send Marquinhos somewhere else to aid his development before getting him back into the squad.
The journalist said: “The idea is that the first part of this season, he’s been part of things. He understands the vision that’s in place. He then goes away to implement everything that he’s learned from this season and make an impact somewhere else – preferably in a team that plays a similar style to Arsenal – and then they would look for him to return and make his mark.
“I don’t think he’s going anywhere long-term. He’s highly thought of. They just want to make sure they manage the situation carefully.”
THE VERDICT: WRONG MOVE
It is still a very long season and sending a player like Marquinhos out on loan is going to have consequences unless another winger is coming in by January. At the moment though, the Brazilian is currently a back-up to Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, meaning his playing time is not guaranteed but he could get that if he leaves on loan.
Whatever the decision is, the 19-year-old looks the part and has a good future at the North London club.
