According to reports, Arsenal are considering a double swoop for Juventus pair Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti.

THE LOWDOWN: NEW TARGETS

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have been identifying targets ahead of the next transfer window, after what was a quite successful window earlier in the summer.

Previous targets have been listed again, while fresh targets have emerged. One key area the Gunners are trying to get new signings in is the midfield position. Injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny have left the Gunners short in the midfield and things aren’t looking bright ahead of a busy October for the Premier League leaders.

However, fresh links have emerged as per a player Arsenal chased for a while but could not land him, as well as another midfield option.

THE LATEST: DOUBLE CHASE

Arsenal are preparing to go for Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti.

Arsenal and Juventus were the direct competitors for the signing of the former Fiorentina striker but he opted to move to Turin over London.

The Gunners may have snapped up Gabriel Jesus in the summer, but it seems they still want to improve the firepower upfront by bringing in the Serbian. This was contained in a report on Calciomercato.

However, he is not the only Bianconeri player on Arsenal’s radar, and the report adds that Mikel Arteta also likes Fabio Miretti and hopes to bring both to the Emirates.

THE VERDICT: DIFFICULT DEALS, NOT DEEDED

Juventus are in a bit of a dilemma at the moment and will definitely not want to lose some of their talents to Arsenal. Since Arsenal failed to beat them to the signing of Vlahovic, luring him away from the Allianz Arena will be an uphill task.

On the other hand, Arsenal need more signings in midfield than in attack. Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus is leading the line quite well for the Gunners and Eddie Nketiah is good enough as a backup.

Miretti does not even measure up to the type of midfielders Arteta needs in his team at the moment. So, both should not be considered, while other “easy” targets are given the right attention.
