Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk.

THE LOWDOWN: TRANSFER DISAPPOINTMENT

Arsenal and Mikel Artera will be disappointed to have missed out on bringing Mudryk to the Emirates Stadium this January.

The 22-year-old has been a target since the summer and were hoping to bring him in by January.

However, after three bids and the player’s desire to come to North London, a deal couldn’t be reached and the winger joined rivals Chelsea instead.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are trying to get alternatives to add some quality to the squad and they have now been offered the chance to sign a Premier League star.

THE LATEST: PREMIER LEAGUE OPTION

Arsenal have been handed the chance to sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard .

Despite the Mudryk setback, Arsenal are still on the hunt for a wide player.

The Evening Standard claims that the Gunners have been handed the chance to sign Trossard, who was dropped by Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi last weekend.

The 28-year-old is currently in the last six months of his contract but Brighton have the option of keeping him for another 12 months.

However, Trossard’s agent has already opened the door for his client to leave after he was not picked to face Liverpool and it appears the Gunners are now a viable option.

It will be recalled that Trossard has previously said no to Arsenal and coming as an alternative now is probably a huge surprise.

THE VERDICT: DECENT ALTERNATIVE

Having missed out on Mudryk, Arsenal have turned their attentions to alternatives and that is where Trossard comes in.

The Belgian is a proven Premier League star and has enough experience on his side. He would be a quality recruit for Arsenal with his Premier League experience. He has scored seven goals and provided three assists from 16 league games this term.
