Wolves coach Bruno Lage has disclosed that the club is yet to receive any offer for star winger Pedro Neto amid strong Arsenal links.

THE LOWDOWN: WINGER SEARCH

If there is one position that the Gunners have been working tirelessly to improve upon in the past few weeks, it is the winger position. Although Arsenal have done some good business this summer, manager Mikel Arteta feels this is an area the club needs a new addition.

Bayern Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby, PSV’s Cody Gakpo and Crystal Palace’s Micheal Olise are names who have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks. The latest target, Pedro Neto, who appreciated the links to Arsenal some days back, had been on the club’s radar before now.

THE LATEST: NO OFFER YET

Wolves manager Bruno Lage has stated that no offers have been received for star winger Pedro Neto, who has emerged as a target for Arsenal this summer.

Neto’s potential availability became aware to the Gunners earlier this month, and both Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring the situation.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Arsenal were pushing to make an approach for the 22-year-old Portugal international. It is believed that the Gunners are also looking to move on flop record signing Nicolas Pepe, who is destined to join Nice on loan, by replacing him with the Portuguese star.

“I have heard that but nothing has come to us,” Lage told reporters.

“It’s normal now [to have interest], with the good players that we have. Teams are looking for good players in the same way we are looking for [Goncalo] Guedes, Matheus [Nunes], [Nathan] Collins.

“No one told me anything about any proposal.

Neto has netted 11 goals in 96 appearances since joining Wolves in 2019 and has shown his versatility by playing off either wing and through the middle for Lage’s side.pe

THE VERDICT: NORMAL PROCEDURE

It is just normal for the manager to say this even when there has been an offer from a club. With Pepe confirmed to leave, this should pave the way for a formal move for Neto, if there has not been one.

Neto, who has valuable Premier League experience, will fancy a move to the Emirates and it is now down to Edu and Mikel Arteta to make it happen before the window closes.
