Lucas Torreira could still move to AC Milan, his agent has hinted.
The Arsenal midfielder only joined Arsenal from Sampdoria last summer, but a return to Italy has been mooted.
A route back to Serie A was made the more likely when Torreira recently revealed that he prefers Italy to England.
And his agent, Pablo Bentancurt, admitted today: “I know nothing about the Rossoneri’s interest, no one contacted me.
“I have learned of this possibility through the press.
“Would [AC Milan director, Marco] Giampaolo’s calling be special for Lucas? Yes, clearly.”
Torreira instantly established himself as a fan favourite after arriving for £22m last summer. The tough-tackling diminutive midfielder made 34 appearances for Arsenal in his debut season.
The Uruguayan would reportedly cost Milan around £40m, and could offer centre-mid Franck Kessie to the Gunners as part of the deal.
