Arsenal have reportedly named their asking price for US International forward Folarin Balogun after his impressive loan spell in France.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a productive spell in Ligue 1 with Reims, scoring 21 league goals and helping them to an 11th-place finish.
That earned him a call-up to the US national side and subsequently scored on his debut against Canada in the 2023 Concacaf Nations League final.
His form in France and international recognition has ultimately put Balogun on the map and shopping lists of many sides leaving Arsenal in an interesting position heading into the summer.
With Eddie Nketiah already on the books, as well as the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Leonardo Trossard and Bukayo Saka, Balogun could find a way into the Arsenal side hard to come by.
That has ultimately meant the Gunners are listening to offers this summer and open to selling the promising youngster.
What are Arsenal willing to sell Folarin Balogun for?
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are willing to sell Balogun for a fee of £35m after his attention-grabbing spell at Reim.
The same report suggests there is interest in the US international from the likes of RB Leipzig, Napoli, AC Milan, Inter and Crystal Palace.
The reported fee has led to Leipzig looking at alternative options which could strengthen Crystal Palace’s position with Wilfried Zaha’s future up in the air.
This could ultimately strengthen Arsenal’s position as the selling club should they opt to offload their academy graduate.
Should Arsenal sell Balogun?
There’s no mistaking how productive Balogun was last season with Reim. However, his career to date has failed to live up to expectation having failed to produce at Rangers and Middlesbrough in two previous loan spells.
Cashing in on the young forward after a positive year might be the best route forward for Mikel Arteta’s side, especially as they look to strengthen this summer.
There’s no guarantee that Balogun will continue his rise up, so getting close to £35m would be incredible business by the club that will almost certainly be reinvested into the first team squad.
