In many ways, yesterday’s opening day game against Liverpool couldn’t have gone any worse with the Gunners capitulating in the second-half like so many other times in the past five years or so.

Fighting back to lose by a 3-4 scoreline with Liverpool leading 1-4 at one stage, it was a difficult afternoon for Arsenal supporters to bear with the loss coming on the back of a frustrating summer in the transfer window.

Having signed Granit Xhaka a while ago now, his signing just hasn’t been substantiated by anybody else of note with the Swiss actually starting yesterday’s game on the bench to most peoples’ surprise.

There was a Gunners debut for Rob Holding whoever who is enduring a steep learning curve at the minute following injuries to both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
