Arsene Wenger isn’t one to let the same opportunity pass him by twice. After missing out on midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in 2013, Wenger is determined to sign him from Monaco this summer.

Kondogbia played a large role in helping Monaco oust Arsenal from the Champions League last season. Despite losing 2-0, the French side held Wenger’s men to under three goals, which saw them eliminated on an away goals rule – so it makes sense that the Gunners would want Kondogbia for themselves.

With the expected departure of Arteta, Diaby and Flamini; Kondogbia would certainly have a place at Emirates. The 22-year-old is a superb passer and his powerful, physical presence has seen him likened to Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

But it seems Wenger will have some competition in attempting to sign the young Frenchman, as Inter Milan are also interested in the midfielder. Should Kondogbia not pan out, Morgan Schneiderlin and Arturo Vidal are also potential targets for the Gunners.
