Arsenal are bracing themselves for a battle to keep hold of Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer.

Maitland-Niles attracting interest from Serie A

According to Sempre Milan via Italian outlet Calciomercato, both Milan clubs are interested in making a move for the Gunners ace.

Maitland-Niles has fallen out of the first-team picture following the return of Hector Bellerin, but the 22 year-old’s talent is undeniable.

It should be noted that, originally a midfielder, the Gunners academy graduate has been taking on first-team duties as a makeshift right-back

Inter are reportedly keen on bringing in a young player to operate as their long-term right-back.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis has eyed Maitland-Niles to replace current full-back Andrea Conti. Gazidis will be well aware of the Arsenal star’s character and potential after his 10 year stint at the Emirates.

It is suggested that the former England Under-21s star is contracted with the Gunners until 2023.
