Arsenal moved swiftly in the transfer market this summer to land top-targets Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette but getting the next deal over the line is proving to be problematic for the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger’s desire to bring 21-year-old French international Thomas Lemar to the Emirates Stadium has been well documented so far in the transfer window but the view from the Gunners seems to have changed dramatically.

Monaco’s stance that Lemar won’t be sold is proving difficult to negotiate with, as the French champions are standing firm following the exits of Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko- leaving Arsenal growing increasingly less optimistic of getting a deal done.

Renowned BBC journalist David Ornstein states that Arsenal will continue to try to sign Lemar but the aforementioned exits from Monaco are reducing their chances, whilst the Gunners’ priority remains on keeping Alexis Sanchez in North London.

For Arsenal to land Lemar, they may have to break the club transfer-record they set just weeks ago with the capture of Alexandre Lacazette.
