According to reports by German outlet Sport1, Arsenal are keen on a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
Unai Emery’s side would need to cough up somewhere in the region of €100m (£90.6m) for the 20-year-old.
The Premier League transfer window has shut, but Arsenal, along with Liverpool and Manchester United are queuing up to discuss a big money move for the youngster.
Only Robert Lewandowski, Paco Alcacer and Luka Jovic scored more than Havertz (17) in the Bundesliga across 2018/19.
And the silky attacker has started the new campaign in typically formidable fashion. Two goals in two games already, including a sublime chip in Saturday’s 3-2 triumph over newly-promoted Paderborn.
With Mesut Ozil struggling for form last season, Arsenal potentially see Havertz as a long-term replacement for the 30 year-old.
Dani Ceballos was brought in from Real Madrid this summer, but the Spaniard is likely to return to the Spanish capital after his season-long-loan.
