Arsenal are unlikely to finalise a move for Chelsea winger Willian due to the player’s high wage demands.

The Brazilian is set to be a free agent this summer after failing to agree a new deal with Chelsea.

Several months of negotiation with the Blues have been left stalemate with the winger, who wants to be tied in for two or three years, unprepared to settle for a rolling 12-month extension.

Willian is happy in London and with his family settled in the capital and his representatives have suggested the idea of a move to Arsenal.

Willian contract demanding are eye watering for Arsenal

But the Gunners are now balking at Willian’s contract demands — as he prepares to quit Stamford Bridge.

The 31 year-old ace, who has netted six times in the Premier League this season, is understood to be demanding a three-year deal which matches his current £120,000-a-week salary.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is set to be cash-strapped this summer and the club are not prepared to tie themselves in two a multi-year deal with the winger at that salary.

Gooners, what would be a reasonable salary for Willian? Let us know in the comments…
