Irresistible from Arsenal today, as the gunners convincingly disposed of Middlesbrough to advance to the next round of the FA Cup. Olivier Giroud’s two minute and 14 seconds brace was enough to give Arsenal the 2-0 result at home.

The result was never in any doubt, as the visitors could not cope with the pace and movement of Arsenal’s attacks. Wonderful play on the first goal, as Welbeck, Cazorla, Sanchez, and Ozil were all involved in a fluid Arsenal move. The ball was sprayed out wide to Gibbs who cut his cross back for Giroud in the six yard box. It was the simplest of finishes and Giroud did just that. The second was anything but simple however. Giroud reacted quickest to Alexis Sanchez’s low corner to the near post, and the Frenchman swung his left boot to lash it into the back of the net. Wonderful from Giroud and wonderful from Arsenal.

The gunners are into the quarterfinals of the Cup, and will be eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s draw.

Driving Arsenal to success?
