Arsenal are set to focus on players swaps to finance transfer deals this summer.

The coronavirus pandemic is causing financial difficulty for much of the Premier League.

Along with negotiating swap deals, the Gunners are set to put their efforts into signing free agents in the next transfer window, reports say.

Mikel Arteta has convinced much of his squad to take the club’s 12.5% 12-month pay-cut proposal.

The Spaniard is hoping to make a shrewd bits of business this summer and with Arsenal’s financial struggles, the Gunners will have to be more economical than ever.

The Daily Mail claim Arsenal are actively seeking swap deals, similar to the one they did with Manchester United and Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in 2018.

Chelsea midfielder Willian is out of contract with the Blues this summer. However, his £120,000-a-week wage demands are a stumbling block.
