Laurent Koscielny continues to be linked with a move away from Arsenal.

The Frenchman has gone on strike after Arsenal refused to allow him to leave this summer.

Koscielny has been linked with a number of sides in Ligue 1, including Rennes and today, Bordeaux boss Paulo Sousa has discussed links to the Arsenal captain.

Sousa told reporters (via GFFN) that they are trying to sign a defender of Koscielny’s quality.

The former QPR and Leicester City boss said: “I have already said it, he is not our player.

“He is a player that every team would like to have because of his experience, the quality of his play and everything that he represents in football.

Koscielny refused to join his teammates in Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the USA

“We are in the market for central defenders because Jules Kounde has left and so we are looking for another player to replace him.

“All talks are ongoing but once again he is not our player.

We are working hard to give ourselves the chance to have a player with his characteristics.”

Koscielny arrived at The Emirates in 2010 after being plucked by Arsene Wenger from Ligue 2. The 33 year-old quickly established himself as an integral member of the team and was rewarded with the Arsenal captaincy on a permanent basis following the retirement of Per Mertesacker in 2018.

Gooners, should Arsenal let Koscielny go? Let us know in the comments…
