If we spend our 70m we will close the gap but I don't think will win the title.
We didn't need to spend 150million to keep up with Man City, we only needed to strengthen in two positions. You think Chelsea are not going to be right around the title hunt come the end of the season? They spent less than us last year, they'll spend far less than City this year. But I promise you they'll still be right around the title race at the end.

I'm not gonna make a definitive statement on Wenger until the window closes, but if things stays the same his name shouldn't even be put in the same sentence as other top managers. They are actually competitive, seemingly unlike him.

FFP, something our business model has been based around now seems totally dead, foiled again!

I mean it's not really based around it. We run a sustainable business. if you do that then you will be in line with FFP. Running a sustainable business is just not the industry standard in football.

City arguably already have the best no. 10 in the world, why the feck are they signing KdB for 74M euros... I know he can be very effective on the wings too, but that's crazy.

So their midfield is going to look like this:
Sterling - Silva - KdB with subs Nasri and Navas. I'm not impressed with Sterling thus far, but that is a quality midfield. Looks like they are going to walk te league this year.

Yaya is old now, maybe one of their other midfielders are gonna take over from him. The transfer would make sense then.

I agree with you - athough not on the best nr.10.

City's squad kinda frightens me. I see them winning the league.

City have won the league twice in the last 4 years. They have all the ingredients, as well as the mentality to go and do it again this year.

Now with their added signings, it makes it a certainty for me. They look hungrier and sharper than ever.

BREAKING: Sky Sources: Tottenham in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over £18m signing of South Korea forward Heung-Min Son #SSNHQ

that would be such good signing.
Rate this guy very highly but not sure if he could play for us. He's mobile and a decent injury and actually uses his ambidexterity to score goals rather than just balloon shots over *cough santi cough*.

Obviously we can't afford De Bruyne but if Wenger insists on playing an attacking midfielder on the wing then he's the type we should go for.

Pires himself was more of an attacking midfielder than a traditional winger, the new problem is that Wenger is putting slow players on the wing and telling them to come inside.

P.S. Why is there a new problem every season?

P.P.S. Why the f*ck have we decided to completely vacate the RM/RW position, when in footballing history has this ever worked?

Korean strikers are not gonna move unless they can start or play somewhat regularly. International's too big for them. I don't see them getting it here.

Even 50million pounds was enough to plug the gaps in our teams, Chelsea spent less than that last year and they walked the league. We weren't far away either, instead we've pissed another window away because of our unambitious manager.
Chelsea spent a lot more than 50m last year. I know their net spend is much lower but that's only because they managed to dope the system (Luiz for 50m!!!!)

League is very weak
Chelsea spent 90M last summer, 35M in Jan. This summer they've spent 50M not including the Falcao outlay and the potential 35M for Stones.

You're looking at 210M in 12 months if Stones goes through.

Yeah Chelsea's net spend is misleading since they buy so many players all the time. They mostly sell off ones that have barely played for them but continue to spend tons players for the first team.

I mean they have 26 players on loan right now ffs.

Arsenal Quotes

An Arsenal fan, when you finish fourth, will say, “Hey, we’ve been in the top four for twenty years. We want to win the league!”. They don’t care that Manchester City or Chelsea have spent 300 or 400 million euros. They just want to beat them.
But if you finish fifteenth two years running, they will be happy if you finish fourth after that.
