Does anyone here know a lot about Ligue1 and what specialists in France are saying about Malcolm's talents?

Is he a better signing than Lemar ?

Im not sure on either tbh because im slowly getting worried of Lacazette's ability to score a lot of goals, even with a more selfless player next to him in Lemar.

Mahrez would guarantee 10+ League goals imo

@carlito'sway (who is the resident Ligue 1 expert) would say he prefers Malcom over Lemar given the price differential and higher ceiling (IIRC)

Watched a few youtube vids and he looks like a Douglas Costa type player to me. If we're going solely by numbers, then he'd be a better option than Lemar.

Both Malcom and Lemar are better than Mahrez already. Lemar is a bit different stylistically. He reminds me of David Silva. Very intelligent and slants more toward the midfield. Malcom, on the other hand, is a wide forward. Despite playing in lousy side, he's been highly productive and is clearly their creative outlet. I think in a better team, his strengths will only be highlighted more. And he's just 20 years old. Count me in.

Curious to as you feel this way, please elaborate.

Malcom looked very good in some videos vs PSG. The kid’s been the main playmaker on a poor side, against elite competition. I’d gladly welcome him aboard.

Malcolm is a baller. Much more exciting prospect than Lemar in my opinion. He isn't just end-product. Mate of mine who works in France has been raving about this lad all season, and he's not the type to overhype such things.

I don't think he's at the level where you would expect him to just walk in and dominate, but he'd walk into the team as by far the most exciting player to watch. He's got that classic Brazilian flair in all the right ways.

Genuinely believe this guy has world class potential. Should be your #1 priority regardless of Sanchez leaving. He's miles ahead of the likes of Iwobi, Welbeck etc.

There's something amazing about signing an exciting young player.

Talented players give you a small ray of hope no matter how bad things are going.

We really haven't signed much first rate talent in years now, signings like Jenkinson, Asano, Sanogo were really depressing so a player like Malcolm would be a breath of fresh air, I hope we go through with the signing

The entire post-stadium move era was arguably defined by this. The results were inconsistent but the team was full of potential and exciting talents.

I have nothing but good memories about those times. Wenger wasn't winning trophies but he found a new playstyle that was very very sexy so at least we had that to watch. We'd play tiki taka football casually in the opponents box and had fun and exciting players who actually suited the style Wenger wanted to play (not like Özil and Sanchez now) . We had an identity in Nasri Fabregas RVP and had exciting talent too. We had to sell most and we had an awful defence but at least we were bad while playing good football.

We don't have an identity any more, when we win games we aren't convincing at all nevermind when we lose ...

And since that era we haven't signed an exciting youth talent

100%.

Give me those years back, not to shabby of not winning the league, if you're at least the pick of the bunch in terms of how football is played

Yet, at that point of time all people wanted was: to stop buying youth talent and spend some mobey on more ready players. Humans :)

It's not just about age per se, we need technically sound players, who can hold on to the ball, take players on, has their head up looking for options instead of head down more concerned about whether or not they can control their touch. They can be 22 or 25 or 28, but for me they need to fit that profile.

Would be a superb Walcott/Welbeck improvement.

I will be disappointed if he is the only player we sign to replace Alexis.

Malcolm and Richarlison to replace Sanchez and I will be delighted. Two exciting prospects.

Great team to compete in the Europa League.

Some people just want fancy names like Draxler etc when there are prospects with a higher ceilings around.

Malcolm and Richarlison are exciting direct players, who like to beat their man. We haven't had one of those in a long time.

Give me:

Lacazette
Leon Baley - Özil - Malcom
Ramsey - Wilshere
Koa - AMN
?? - Kos
??/Cech

Wing conundrum solved for years with youth players such as Nelson and Nketiah waiting for chances. And that even relatively cheap.

80-90m for Baley and Malcom should be sufficient I guess.

You do know what happens with Arsenal and talented players right?

They either don't reach their ceiling and become a waste like Walcott and Wilshere or they do and they are sold to richer clubs at which point we never enjpy their high ceiling.

This is a waste of time and it's funny seeing fans lap it up as if this was a success when we did it with previous generations.
