If you're a pragmatist then the queen is great for our constitution btw. Perfect hinge on which our odd constitutional set-up operates. Great diplomatically too and, although the monarchy's precise value is hard to quantify, the crown brings in a huge amount of tourist revenue.

If you're an idealist who thinks everybody should be born equal then she's more problematic.

This is one of the problems though, not even Arteta knows. He wasn't even a proper assistant/#2, he was basically a video analyst.

How will he handle adversity? What about managing disgruntled players who are not playing, will he be able to make the tough decisions? Will he gain the respect of the squad(as a newbie and just a few years ago a teammate and equal to a lot of the players in the current squad), because let's face it, if the players don't buy in and turn against you/stop playing for you there is nothing you can do no matter how good a manager you are as we've seen plenty of examples of over the years.. All this is a complete unknown because Arteta has never been in that position, not even at u-18 level.

Arteta could very well turn out to be an excellent manager, on paper he has a lot of good qualities and seems like the type who could succeed in a manager role, but this is a massive gamble. It's not like we've a strong foundation in place for him either where he can seamlessly step in that role, he's the guinea pig for Gazidis' new setup.

⬆️ Good common sense.

Good points, I'm not against a monarchy since it seems to be a good thing for relations between different countries, but it is pretty weird when you think about it rationally.

Over here the King and Queen are driven around in a golden carriage once a year, after which they sit down on a throne and read the government's plans for the coming years. Don't understand that, cringe factor through the roof.

Budget managerial appointment.
Transfer budget of £50m.

Act like a small club and we will become one. Enough is enough. **** off Kroenke.

#KroenkeOut.
The coach can always sell a Lacazette, Ramsey, Mustafi, Xhaka, Chambers to raise funds if not in plans. First time in a while we have assets worth a bit & not on absurd wages.

I'm just happy it results in a day off almost every year. Costs a lot of money, but hey, old people love em.

@Vinci That sounds like something more akin to Disneyworld. Haha.

It seems that the main reason the monarchy are popular amongst the people who enjoy them is media fawning. Probably people who enjoy living vicariously through them or are attracted to the status/power of the events.

The media definitely have a huge influence, though. If you relate it back to football, they are the main reason people think John Stones can defend, or that Harry Maguire is anything other than average, or that Xhaka is crap regardless of the fact that he's the best passer from deep in the Premier League.

I think, generally, people need to be more aware to the fact that the media is a purchasable propaganda piece for the mega rich. Privately owned companies that, for all intents and purposes, are not set up to facilitate the needs of the common man.

cant wait for the inevitable implosion at Chelsea

Enrique is too caustic a personality. All managers need a bit of warmth with their players to succeed in the long term. Wenger had too much, Enrique doesn't have any at all.

Arsenal Quotes

It was a unique moment, a football fairytale. Was there anyone left who still believed I could give that kind of performance? Probably only Arsène Wenger.
